Harvest: | At 28th of September, beautiful grapes were harvested manually and collected in small baskets. |
Weather: | Winter was cold and also spring recorded low temperatures, we even had some night frost (-5°) in April. Fortunately the damage in the vineyard was limited. As from the 25th of May the weather really changed for the better and it became a beautiful warm, sometimes hot summer, but also dry. We eliminated around 50% of the grapes during colouring of the grapes, in order to guarantee good quality grapes, but also to give the vines the chance to continue their normal vegetative cycle. |
Vinification: | After destemming, fermentation took place at a maximum temperature of 28°C for a period of 24 days in our cement tanks, with regular pushing down the cap in order to have the skins immersed. |
Maturation: | For one year in used oak French barrique. Malolactic fermentation took place in barrique. |
The wine: | Drink between now and 5 years. |
