2013 La Volpe

Location: Monteleone di Orvieto, Italy
South-eastern slope, at an altitude of 350 meters, surface of vineyard: 1,5 ha
Grape variety: 90% Sangiovese and 10% Merlot.

Harvest: Early October, grapes were harvested manually and collected in small baskets. Yield is 45 hl/ha.
Weather: This year was a good year for growing grapes, and ideal circumstances to create La Volpe.
Vinification: After destemming, fermentation took place at a maximum temperature of 23°C for a period of 17 days in our cement tanks, with regular pushing down the cap in order to have the skins immersed.
Maturation: For two years in used oak French barrique
Malolactic fermentation took place in barrique.
The wine: Drink between now and 5 years.
Analysis: Alcohol: 13,5 %
Acidity: 5,19 g/ltr
